I'm also a southern, boy mama of three.
Wordsmith. Recovering perfectionist.
And lover of ranch-dipped french fries.
"See, I am doing a new thing..."
— Isaiah 43:19
Once upon a time, I was climbing the corporate ladder, juggling admin work by day and writing by night. I was doing everything I was “supposed” to do — but deep down, I knew I was meant for more.
More time with my family.
More room for creativity.
More impact rooted in purpose — not pressure.
So I took a leap of faith.
I traded my title and timecard for a blank Google Doc, a lot of prayer, and a mustard seed of courage. And that’s where the first seeds of Brand New Woman™ were planted.
Today, I help women clarify their voice, align their message with their mission, and build soul-aligned brands rooted in who God created them to be — not just what the internet algorithims says they should be.
And the best part? I get to do it while staying present for my three boys, sneaking ranch-dipped french fries, and showing other women that they don’t have to choose between calling and strategy. There’s room for both.
NOW FOR THE IMPORTANT STUFF
My house consists of one large man, three small boys, a mini dog, and myself. It's a zoo and I love it.
I live in Southern Alabama which is probably not at all what you imagine. Think more white beaches and fewer banjos.
I have never watched an episode of the Kardashians or any Real Housewives of XYZ. Save the drama for your mama.
I still wear skinny jeans and side part my hair and use the cry-laugh emoji. Suck it, Gen Z.
MY REALLY OFFICIAL BIO, the TL:DR VERSION
Janell McCoy is the founder of Brand New Woman™, a faith-led brand mentorship business helping women clarify their message, align with their mission, and build brands rooted in purpose — not performance.
As a Brand Strategist and Storytelling Mentor, Janell blends her background in content, copywriting, and spiritual clarity to help women uncover who they were created to be and build businesses that reflect it — from the inside out.
When she’s not helping clients align their brand with their calling, you’ll find her with her three boys, curled up with a book and a good cup of coffee, or sneaking off for a moment of peace with her husband, Jamie.
I send weekly letters to women who are ready to build brands that reflect their faith, purpose, and personality — not just what’s trending.
Inside, you’ll find encouragement,
storytelling prompts, strategy tips, and the occasional reminder that God’s timing is never late (even if your content calendar is).
This is more than a newsletter.
It’s your reminder that you were built for this.
